Accordingly,\u00a0<strong>silicon carbide<\/strong>\u00a0is commonly regarded as the &#8220;diamond among ceramics.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Unlike conventional <a href=\"https:\/\/grafhartmetall.com\/en\/tungsten-carbide\/\">tungsten carbides<\/a> (e.g., WC\u2013Co), silicon carbide (SiC) is a monolithic ceramic and does not contain a metallic binder phase. As a ceramic material, it offers very\u00a0<strong>high wear resistance and excellent chemical resistance<\/strong> , but is also more brittle than tougher cemented carbide
